Clarivate partners with HealthWise Data to integrate Social Determinants of Health (SDoH) into its real-world data (RWD), enhancing patient insights and promoting healthcare equity for better outcomes.

Clarivate, a global provider of transformative intelligence, has announced a strategic partnership with HealthWise Data to integrate SDoH attributes into its RWD repository. This collaboration aims to provide comprehensive patient insights, enabling life science, healthcare, and research professionals to improve patient outcomes and promote healthcare equity.

Clarivate’s integrated RWD platform allows end-users to analyze patient cohorts throughout their entire journey, from disease onset to treatment outcomes. The partnership integrates HealthWise Data’s extensive database, which includes 249 million US adults and SDoH attributes, and predictions on consumer health behaviors and lifestyles, into Clarivate’s RWD product. This includes health adherence, wellness habits, health equity indicators, and the ability to pay for medical expenses.

Bob Morrison, Vice President of RWD Data Strategy and Operations at Clarivate, stated,

“As a part of our ongoing commitment to delivering excellence in RWD, our partnership with HealthWise Data represents a significant milestone in our mission to provide clients with connected data and transformative insights. By integrating SDoH attributes into the Clarivate RWD product, we offer payers and providers a comprehensive and unified source of truth, empowering more informed decision-making. This collaboration underscores our joint dedication to driving effective public health interventions and addressing disparities, ultimately fostering improved patient outcomes and advancing healthcare equity.”

Integrating SDoH attributes into Clarivate’s RWD product offers a deeper understanding of the non-medical factors that significantly influence health outcomes. These factors, including socioeconomic status, education, and living conditions, are encapsulated within HealthWise Data’s SDoH attributes.

SDoH-enhanced RWD is crucial for public health interventions, as it helps to identify high-risk or underserved populations, and enables effective early prevention measures. By understanding how social and environmental factors impact health outcomes and accessibility, health systems and providers can collaborate with communities and public health organizations to address these issues comprehensively, reducing health disparities and promoting health equity.

“We are delighted to engage in a strategic partnership with Clarivate. Layering HealthWise Data’s unique SDoH and consumer health and wellness behavioral scores on top of Clarivate clinical data will provide Clarivate’s clients with a more robust view of the patient as a person and improve patient outcomes.”
