Two cut outs of heads facing each other on a red background. Inside the brain area of each head is blue string. In one head, the string is in a perfect spiral. In the other, it is tangled and messy. To represent that Holmusk and Veradigm advance mental health research with EHR.

Holmusk and Veradigm collaborate to enhance mental health research through enriched electronic health record (EHR) data, integrating AI analytics and psychometric scales for improved disorder progression insights.

Holmusk and Veradigm have announced an advancement in their strategic collaboration aimed at enhancing mental health research and care through real-world evidence (RWE). This partnership combines Holmusk’s expertise in behavioral health data analytics with Veradigm’s healthcare technology solutions to drive innovation in the field.

Holmusk integrates behavioral health data with AI-powered analytics and digital solutions to advance evidence generation and innovation in behavioral health research and care. Veradigm leverages its platforms, data, expertise, connectivity, and scale to provide advanced insights and data-driven solutions for healthcare providers, payers, and the biopharma market.

The collaboration has focused on enriching millions of patient profiles within the Veradigm Network EHR data. Holmusk and Veradigm have worked together to identify additional insights that assess disorder progression, transforming semi-structured data captured at the point-of-care into analyzable, structured data. This enriched data provides a deeper understanding of how a patient’s disorder evolves throughout the clinical care journey.

A key achievement of this collaboration is the increased density of psychometric scales, which are crucial for assessing treatment effectiveness and care patterns. This enriched data is now available in NeuroBlu Data, described as the largest NLP-enriched real-world dataset for mental health.

Dr Christoph Correll, Professor of Psychiatry at Zucker School of Medicine, Hofstra/Northwell, and a Scientific Advisor at Holmusk, emphasized the importance of this milestone,

“As a psychiatrist, investigator, and professor, access to outcome-rich data like these is invaluable when conducting research on the identification, characterization, and treatment of those with severe psychiatric disorders. This milestone marks a turning point in our expertise and ability to harness outcome measures at scale and at a level of granularity that is all too often missing from real-world data.”

Nawal Roy, Holmusk’s Founder & CEO, highlighted the collaboration’s impact on advancing mental health research,

“This milestone has uncovered a significant volume of measures of mental health progression, enriching NeuroBlu Data and the ability to deliver precision neuroscience. We are continuing to build upon this unparalleled source of rich, real-world data to address the evidence gap in mental health and positively impact patient outcomes.”

Tom Langan, Interim CEO of Veradigm, added,

“By combining Holmusk’s global leadership in clinical insights for mental health with Veradigm’s direct access, network reach, and technical expertise for enhancing EHR-derived data, we have uncovered these underutilized data points, enhancing the understanding of treatment strategies for mental health conditions. Together, we’ve tapped into a wealth of data that is key to advancing patient care in mental health.”

Moving forward, Holmusk and Veradigm plan to continue optimizing data availability and standardization to support robust RWE generation for mental health. This effort aims to close the evidence gap and improve patient outcomes in behavioral health.
